Facial
After driving back and forth to a spa in Richmond for the past 5 years decided it was time to find one more conveniently located (i.e. walking distance). The interior could definitely use a face lift - new light/fan fixtures, reupholstery of lounge furniture, new paint colour or some fabulous wallpaper would all give the spa a more up-to-date look and feel. Switching the location of the lounge and reception area would, in my opinion, make entering more functional and friendly. Staff were friendly and professional, but would have liked to have seen them wear the same colour clothing with the spa\'s logo. The facial was good and will probably improve over time once the esthetician/client relationship is established. |

Massage
I've never tried a Shiatsu Massage before, and it was amazing. The Therapist used excellent pressure and knew where to hit my sore spots! It was a meesage that I remained fully clothed and was able to go back to the office afterwards. I highly recommend this healing treatment! |

Facial
Have been going here for the past 5 years. If you want a really thorough and relaxing facial see Zara. She is also a genius at threading. Their pricing is also very reasonable. Mary, the owner, is very good at keeping up-to-date with new products and services. If you live in Richmond this is the place to go. |

Facial
& Massage
An absoluetely
amazing experience.
From the moment
I entered I
was greated
by friendly
smiles and an
array of glorious
gift and skin
care products.
My facial and
massage was
the best I have
ever received.
I began with
a steam and
then I was cocooned
in a feather
duvet and luxurious
blanket while
my body was
transformed
by my therapist.
After that,
my facial began
with a warm
foot soak as
well as a back
massage and
then I enjoyed
the longest
facial I have
ever experienced.
No rushing there,
but I will rush
back as it was
truely an amazing
day. |

Hot Towel
Massage?
When I arrived
at this busy
White
Rock Day Spa,
I found the
entrance full
of clients.
Some waiting
to check in,
others seated
drinking beverages
and others receiving
manicures off
to one side
of the lobby,
which was adorned
with product
and jewelry
meant to tempt.
After registering,
I was escorted
to the changing
room which was
beyond lovely,
and with every
attention to
detail considered.
I noted baskets
of warm cloths,
blow dryers,
hair product
and face and
body creams.
After changing
into a luxurious
robe, I was
escorted into
a private sitting
room, where
I was offered
a beverage while
I awaited my
attendant. The
room was warm
and rich, with
comfortable
sofas and chairs.
My attendant
appeared very
shortly and
escorted me,
through rich
terra cotta
hallways and
into the hydrotherapy
room for my
tub. While I
enjoyed my bath,
I noted that
the jets lacked
the power of
other hydrotherapy
tubs I've experienced.
After my hydrotherapy
tub, I found
my way back
to the sitting
room where I
was, again,
offered a beverage
which I declined.
My attendant
arrived shortly,
and escorted
me to the massage
room to begin
my therapy.
The attendant,
a floater from
another salon,
inquired about
my preferences
and explained
that she liked
to use hot towels
during her massage,
at which point,
I wondered about
my massage?
My massage was
above average
but certainly
not the best
I've experienced.
While I did
enjoy the hot
towel wraps,
I noted that
less time and
attention was
spent on the
full body massage
I was there
to receive.
While I didn't
have a pedicure,
I noticed that
the pedicure
room had multiple
chairs and clients,
not a private
room as I prefer.
While this spa
is probably
considered one
of the best
White Rock Spas,
as witnessed
by the busy
entrance, it
won't be one
I'll hurry back
to. While some
may like the
hot towel wraps,
I prefer the
massage. |

Excellent
Facial
Aru
Spa
is a
new
spa
in a
brand
new
building
offering
valet
service
and
your
choice
of tea
once
inside
the
modern
East/West
fusion
style
waiting
room.
The
waiting
room
is a
little
noisy
as the
spa
also
has
a hair
salon,
but
once
past
the
glass
door
entering
the
spa
section,
you
are
treated
to a
pleasant
escape
with
a sensuous,
circular,
genie-in
the
bottle
type
lounge
seating
area
with
muted
lighting,
relaxing
music,
locker
and
steam
room.
After
my steam,
Sam
was
waiting
to take
me to
my room.
With
a delightful
English
accent,
she
explained,
thoroughly,
what
the
treatment
would
consist
of.
I had
the
Aru
Signature
Facial,
a glorious
skin
lifting
treatment
which
helps
to reduce
expression
lines
and
promotes
a radiant
glow.
Sam
convinced
me that
continuing
to use
the
fine
facial
products
at home
would
be a
good
thing.
When
I arrived
at the
reception
desk
before
leaving
to pay
for
the
service,
my products
in brightly
coloured
boxes
were
piled
in front
of me.
I was
curious
as to
why
the
receptionist
did
not
tally
the
products
in with
my bill.
She
looked
at me
with
a blank
stare
and
asked,
"you
are
taking
all
of them?"
"Yes,"
I replied.
"Perhaps
I should
get
a total
on them
first?"
"Two
hundred
dollars
per
bottle.
I was
surprised
you
were
taking
all
of them."
Not
as surprised
as me!
A three
month
supply
of facial
products
for
$1200?
That
would
buy
me a
lot
of Aru
Spa
facials!

Hot
Stone
Massage
I visited
Spa
Utopia
in Langley
about
two
months
ago
and
spent
most
of the
day
there,
as I
bought
a package
that
included
a facial,
massage
&
pedicure.
I had
a hot
stone
massage,
for
the
first
time,
and
it was
wonderful.
And
I really
enjoyed
the
warming
mats
used
during
my facial.
Between
each
session
I returned
to a
lovely
coed
lounge
that
served
complimentary
dried
fruit
and
nuts,
coffee
and
tea.
I opted
not
to have
lunch.
While
it was
only
$20
extra,
the
session
prices
were
quite
steep
but
worth
every
penny.

Ahhhhh
....
Charlotte
was so
welcoming
and warm.
The massage
was the
best I've
ever had.
Quaint
and charming
place.
I'd recommend
it to
everyone! |

French
Thalassotherapy
Treatments
I recently experienced
Beverly's Spa
On Fourth in
Vancouver, BC.
I had just moved
to Vancouver,
from Kelowna
and the spa
was recommended
by a coworker,
who is a regular
client.
I absolutely
loved this spa.
It was clean
and light, in
spirit and energy.
The staff were,
clearly, committed
to their service
and product,
and I felt like
a regular client
almost immediately.
And the ambiance,
certainly, appealed
to my euro-chickness.
I experienced
the Warm Stone
Shirodhara which
is a blend of
Swedish and
warm stone massage.
Wow! I was knocked
out. The swedish
massage was
one the best
I've ever received,
and the hot
stones seemed
to melt into
my tired back.
I, absolutely,
recommend this
Vancouver Spa.
PS < If you're
ever in Kelowna,

Wrapture at
the Okanagan
Resort. |

Gift
Certificate
Run-Around
Let it
be known
that I
have never
reviewed
or even
been to
a spa.
I am writing
this on
behalf
of my
girlfriend,
who received
the worst
customer
service
either
of us
had ever
experienced,
courtesy
of Nimas
Spa.
I worked
as a concierge,
this summer,
at an
upscale
Vancouver
hotel,
and was
informed
by a salesman
about
a promotional
discount
for concierges
on an
introductional
spa package
at Nimas.
At least,
I thought
so. When
I arrived
to purchase
the package,
the discount
was not
honoured.
I went
ahead
and bought
the full
price
package
anyway,
which
was a
huge mistake.
My poor
girlfriend
booked
her first
appointment
and was
met with
the cryptic
message,
"your
appointment
may be
cancelled."
Sure enough,
not only
was it
cancelled,
but she
had to
call them
that morning.
She found
out that
her appointment
had been
booked
with someone
planning
a
vacation.
Neither
she or
I could
figure
out why
they would
book appointments
for someone
going
on vacation,
and Nimas
was unable
to answer
that question
for us.
This is
getting
long-winded,
but suffice
it to
say that
this was
only the
tip of
the iceberg;
further
attempts
to book
appointments
led to
the discovery
of hidden
stipulations,
like being
unable
to book
more than
one appointment
per week,
as opposed
to per
day as
was originally
explained.
Additionally,
while
trying
to get
explanations
for these
policy
changes
over the
telephone,
, we have
been hung
up on
multiple
times.
Needless
to say,
the gift
certificate
that I
purchased
with the
intent
of relieving
some of
my girlfriends
stress,
has been
the source
of a considerable
amount
of stress.
We've
given
up trying
to sort
this out,
and sincerely
recommend
that others
avoid
purchasing
any gift
packages
from Nimas
Spa in
Vancouver,
BC. |

Awesome
Pedicure
I had a good
experience with
Tiah as well!
She gave me
an awesome pedicure.
She paid special
attention to
buffing my heals,
which I appreciate
and I loved
her foot massage.
And when I left,
I left with
bright pink
toes that reminded
me of my experience
every time I
looked at them! |
